Game is unplayable. But I still get a kick out of ppl going OMG bots so bad but JM is gonna banzor them. Please JM man man them. And then it never happens. I can laugh because I have been there. SRO itself is legendary win. Joymax is immortal epic fail. And Just FYI in case you missed it the fail is greater than the win.

If you hate it so much go start a "silkroad online hate club" or something along those lines. Don''t ruin silkroad online for people who do like playing it.
Knucklehead we are using our accumulated experience and knowledge to help nub like yourself out. SRO is a dead game. No one really plays it not even those that actually try, But not from lack of trying. It is just unplayable due to "NO" oversight.

Some of the mods (maybe most of them) also quit the game. But I think all of you missing something here guys... The people that PocketSunshine is talking about are the ones who quit and post in GD about how shit this game is and trying to make people quit the game as they did. They do not share their ideas and they do not do anything positive for this community. Maybe they are doing this because they are regretful of quiting the game.. don't know.. Just ask them.
BTW don't start to flame at me.. Neither i nor PocketSunshine is talking about everyone who quit the game. Please read my post again.

Seriously. Every time I see someone post, "I hate this game. It sucks so bad. I quit for good a long time ago, and you should quit too!" I just shake my head. It just gets really annoying seeing people talk about how much they hate this game and people who still play it are wasting their time.
(And yes, this is a serious question. Why are you still here?)

Thank you! Someone who actually understands the point I'm trying to make.
There's nothing wrong with staying around posting in the other sections and trying to stay in touch with friends. I wasn't referring to people like that. I was referring to people who don't offer "constructive criticism" who just bombard simple threads flaming the game and trying to convince everyone else to quit, too (And NOT discuss the topic). And no, I don't consider flaming ever being constructive criticism.
It's like me sticking around on a Rohan Online community forum, but constantly post in the general discussion thread about how much I hate the game and how I quit so many months ago and never offer constructive criticism on the topic.

Yes, on MySpace. Not on a forum about a game I hate.

It's the same here, people quit the game but love the community so they decided to come back to the cosy online place. Nothing wrong with that, rather I don't get how people like you b!tch about every cows and donkeys on earth.
I'm so sorry to hear you feel that way. I happen to like cows and donkeys very much, sir. They're quite adorable.

It's not that no one got your point it is that you don't get theirs. To be honest at this point I would consider helping someone break their addiction to this game a positive thing for this community. About the only people left that actually still try to play are those that are addicted. It is a great boon that there are those who choose to stay to help you all acknowledge your problem and to overcome it.

Actually the only way you'll see a topic about SRO is if you click on one of the subforums about the game... General Discussion, Exposed Botters, Characters Skills, Guides Tutorials, Questions Answers, The Marketplace, Other SRO Versions, Guilds & Clans...
If you simply go to OTL, OG, AC, or sig requests, you would (should) never see an SRO topic.
I tend to agree though, if you quit, you shouldn't whining in the SRO sections to others telling them they should quit too.

Just remember 2 sides to every story.
My saying is that there are 3 sides to every story: yours, mine, and the truth.
Now now, I understand your situation, but that's not what I'm referring to. When someone makes a post saying, "Hey. I just came back to the game/just started the game, and I want to know which server to choose." Then you'll have some people saying, "NONE! THEY ALL SUCK! DON'T PLAY THE GAME!" I mean, how is that helpful?
And not everyone who still plays is addicted to the game. There are plenty of casual players who play. For me, I play whenever I have the free time. Work and my boyfriend take up a lot of my time. There are different ways to reinforce positivity instead of flaming someone's topic because one no longer likes the game.
But it's not a big deal, really. I just wanted to know why some people still hung around. I got my answer. Thanks all.

Lame.
I dont find sro addicting at all, I find it hard to acctully want to play it long much less become some lifeless freak all day.

I stay because you people need to realise how bad this game is. If I don't tell you, how will you know? You're all so f*cking deluded that this game is even remotely decent. There is nothing fun to do, there is nothing good about it.
You ask me why I waist my time here, well, I ask you why you waist your time on SRO? And do not say because "Grinding is fun!!!" or "The PvP is cool!!!" Because there are a number of other MMO's that can waist your life away just as much as SRO but you will actually enjoy yourself playing them.
And to the people that say they are managing their lives perfectly while playing SRO legit, I say you havn't even begun to play Silkroad then. You obviously don't have the obliged actions of a Premium ticket costing an absurd amount of money each month to play 3hours a day. To someone who says they grind those 3 hours a day [which always turns out to take 4hours due to travel etcetc] in their spare time I say get a f*cking life. You do NOT have 4 hours a day to play computer games and still call yourself successful at life, ie. Holding down a succesful job whilst giving sufficient time to family, friends and other responsibilities in life. There are better things those 4 hours can contribute to your "Life" than sitting at the computer.
The game is bad. We're doing a favor by telling you this. Don't question it, accept it, quit and either play another game that is half decent or start playing life. Because you are missing the best of bother worlds. The best of the gaming world [playing a shit game] and the best of real life [wasting 4 hours a day to play a shit game].

hmmmm.......
One thing no one has ever come out to say is..............
"QUIT! YOU LOGGERHEADS! SO THAT THE TRAFFIC WILL LESSEN, SO THAT I CAN FINALLY LOG IN!"
or
"QUIT! SO THAT THERE WON'T BE MUCH DEMAND FOR GOLD, SO THAT THE GOLD BOTS WILL BE GONE, SO THAT I WILL FINALLY BE ABLE TO LOG IN INTO THIS VERY COOL GAME WHICH I SAY I HATE BUT ACTUALLY LOVE BUT I CAN'T BUY PREMIUM"
or
"I WISH ONE HALF OF THE PLAYERS ON MY SERVER WILL QUIT SO I CAN FINALLY GET IN WITHOUT TOO MUCH TRAFFIC"
or
"JUST CHECKING IF THE GAME IS NOT AS TROUBLESOME AS IT WAS BEFORE SO I CAN GO BACK TO THIS VERY COOL GAME"
Hits the nail right on the head for some, ain't it?

I'll tell you anyway... Grinding is fun!!! Just because it's not fun for you doesn't mean it's not fun for anyone else. I can find it fun to log into Quake 3 Arena or DOOM 3 or any other FPS and kill a bunch of players or monsters over and over for a while to get my mind off of things, or I can do the same in SRO. I can find both activities fun.

I manage my life just fine while playing SRO legit. I just don't play 3 - 4 hours a day. In fact, I barely play 1 hour at a time, maybe 3 times a week if that. I just play a little here and there whenever I have the time between taking care of my daughters and spending time with my wife. No need for premium for that. It'd be a waste of money.

The game is bad for you, not for everyone. I've played other MMORPGs like perfect world, 2moons, shaiya, starport ge, and others. They're ok, but I keep coming back to Silkroad. Maybe I'm just a creature of habit, but I just prefer SRO, even if I only play it casually. That's not such a crime.

The only ginding for hours that people do there is pixel sex and there truly is no bot problem as they are all our servants. Just relaxing and enjoying my time. Still miss SRO at times all the people etc. But they are gone and never coming back. I heard you went to a new server?

I'm sorry, i speak on behalf of you and everyone else when i say pushing 4 buttons to watch a character to the same skills dealing the same damage over and over with repetitive spawns is not fun. There literally is NO element that changes. If you're not addicted WHY is that fun? Whilst you may think you're having "Fun", believe me when I say there are more enjoyable things, games, hobbies, sports to do.
You did not just compare grinding in SRO to an FPS game. Oh god no. Prometheus, FPS games require a level of interaction from the user which stimulates them. They have to think. They have to react. They have to aim. FPS requires skill. In all seriousness, in Silkroad all you do is push 2134. That is it.
My statement regarding having a life was clearly directed at the people who grind off 3hour tickets each and every day. Playing 3hours a WEEK, is a little easier to manage a life than playing 21hours MINIMUM [most likley 35-40hours] per week.
Every mmo you have named there is hardly better than Silkroad. Try WoW or Warhammer. Whilst you may hate the stereotype of being a WoW gamer, sorry to say you are being a bigger nerd/geek by playing silkroad over wow.
You obviously have not played a decent MMO, one with substance. One which has elements of skill and that can be played competitively [and is]. One that doesn't rely on PvE content of grinding 3hours minimum per day, rather uses instances dungeons and group quests to occupy peoples time in more challenging and fulfilling ways. There is always SOMETHING to do. Silkroad there is what?
A bugged/glitched fortress war once a fortnight at ridiculous times on a ridiculous day. Stupidly ridiculous amounts of grinding to level up, yet achieve nothing. Capping at 70/80/90 and finding there really is nothing to do in this game.
Cape PvP, Job, Grind. That is it. Cape'ing is a stupid PvP system. For an "on-demand" style of PvP it is just idiodic. The amount of ganking and shit that goes on, crying over whose mother farked whose and begging for 10k gold of the full sun'd 100billion gold rich botter makes cape pvp utterly shit.
Jobbing is just stupid. If a server isn't one sided with hunters or thieves, then they lack any PvP at all. It's all about who has the shittest lifeless friends willing to stand next to a hunter and res/buff them all day. It's all about running around for 2 hours trying to find someone to no avail. Triangular conflict system was a good idea, but to play for more than a couple days just gets old and shitty, much like the rest of the game.
Grinding? Well, we all know how "Fun" this is. As if we didn't do enough of it to level to 70/80/90 we get to farm for 3x longer to get farmed simply to stand HALF a chance against the cheaters out there with full sun sets stacked up in there storage.
Oh, that's only whats "Bad" about the game which people say is "Good". The lack of updates, customer service, maintenance etcetcetcetc the list goes Farking on and on and on. Over the last few years watching Joymax, I can honestly say they are the most money sighted business on the interenet i have ever seen. Compare this to a good company such as Blizzard with WoW which doesnt recieves weekly updates which do nothing, their updates change the game... they monitor character balances, fix every bug out there, monitor PvE dungeons/instances difficult levels, release new gear sets for people to collect. That list is only a tiny portion. All this not to mention that it is said by almost all players who play WoW that the game BEGINS once you cap. Everything silkroad has or wants WoW has and maintains to a level far beyond that of joymax and silkroad.
Seriously, Silkroad sucks.

When you evaluate an MMORPG, you have to consider the community and the company that maintains it because they are constantly contributing to your experience. So yes, Silkroad is a bad game.

You don't have to spend alot of time in a game or put it over anything in your life to be addicted to a game. You don't have to spend money on a game to be addicted to either.
Anyone who is not addicted knows that the other games are overall better than SRO. Maybe you mean SRO is more fun for you than the other games? Then yes, fun factor is subjective and I can't argue with that.

When you evaluate an MMORPG, you have to consider the community and the company that maintains it because they are constantly contributing to your experience. So yes, Silkroad is a bad game.
When you simply say it's a bad game, ppl are gonna think it's a bad game, not it might be good but has a bad company running it or something. Point is you gave an opinion, not a fact ;d.

A few examples...
When the number of people who play by the rules are the minority, you're playing a bad game. When you brag about being "legit" and how your server has more legit players than another server, you're playing a bad game. When you can't log in because of server traffic caused by thousands of bots, you're playing a bad game.
As I said, since its an MMORPG you have to take the community and company running the game into the equation. This isn't a single player game with a multiplayer extension. If the multiplayer is full of bugs and the community is full of hackers, that doesn't necessarily make the game bad because there is still the single player experience. However, an MMORPG has no such thing. The community and the company are always effecting your gaming experience.
I'm done, but I get what you're saying though. I guess SRO could be... was a good game.

What you do or say in any game is a small extension of who you really are. It's the anonymity that can allow them to show their true self, or who they would be if there was no "penalty" for their actions.

Gotta chime in with realist on this one DJ. You an I both know SRO has the potential to be a great game. Hell it was a great game and you an I both have great memories of what it used to be. But potential is one thing. Potential is etherial and unrealized. If it was realized then iSRO would still be a great game. But that potential was discarded years ago. Making iSRO at best awful and at worst hell on the internet.
