howcome when a full STR uses a sword they are stronger than when they use a blade?
shouldnt blade be the STR weapon and therefore be stronger than when using a sword? lol sro is farked up- whats the point of having a blade.

Sword isnt stronger than blade for a pure str build. Blades have higher phy dmg/reinforce than a sword would and swords have higher mag dmg/reinforce than a blade, making them better for int heavy builds. Though i was using a sword for a bit because sos +3/+4 is better than a +5 blade.

Mr Fudge : You must have a bit of int.
Phy. Atk = [Phy. attack power + (Str stat * Phy. Reinforce)] * [1 + weapon mastery/100]
Mag. Atk = [Mag. attack power + (Int stat * Mag. Reinforce)]

lets start with what lvl you are. If you arent high lvl yet, your magic and phys balance will be closer to each other.

i think you either put some points into int or have +int on weapons and equipments. im lvl31 pure str and i have ~33% magical balance. but still, sword shouldn't do more dmg than blade.
and also i remember having 92% phy balance when i was in the low 20's.

lol okay you know what this doesnt even matter. i just think somethings wrong with this aspect of the game because my char is fine except for the fact that im full str and do more damage with a sword.
either way i restarted so i have a new char thats about to start farming so im done with STR anyway, all about the hybrid spear now.

Your right.. I was about to post a topic to this.
I was gonna post, why not use a sword/spear instead of a blade/glaive as a full str character? They have more mag dmg so why the hell not?

but then again you're just lvl 4x and farming.
Thus all I can say is just "ROFLLMAOLOL!".

Try the test again without any gear, only a weapon.
the gear (armor/rings/prots/garments) you got changes your damage

this is so simple to answer....
are you testing it on mobs??
if on a str based mob, then your surely gonna get higher damage on sword wich will increse you magic damage.
but now try it on pvp in a INT base char...
You gonna lose a good and fatal amount of your phy damage.
and get owned.
It all depends on the targets defences...

but... isnt the imbue a magical attack?
because if it is, the sword will make much higher dammage than a blade, cause magical attack( imbue in this case)

this UBER DAMAGE will then be multiplied with the magical balance of a pure str char and the dam will be at 40%~ depending on +int gear

I guess it (partly) depends on if you use mostly weapon skills or force skills in your attacks. I think you'd find that weapon skills would be better for str based weapons, and force better for int based weapons. I haven't tested that, but it makes sense to me. Try testing an npc blade and sword without using any skills and see which you do better damage with. Test using only weapon skills, test using only force skills.

the answer is simple, u all care about the power of the weapon without caring about the defence of the opponent.

That is also a very good point if you're testing on multiple types of opponents. However, if you're testing the power of 2 weapons, you should stick to the same opponent with the same defenses as each other. So opponent defenses don't exactly matter for the test.

To me it sounds like he is saying he is using blade without imbue. And Sword with, if this is the case, duh you are gonna do more dmg with sword.
