Here's a random thought. I wonder what it would take, or if it's even possible, to get SRO to run on a Windows Mobile 7 smartphone. I don't know what kind of processor or RAM those smartphones have, but they do run Windows, and if I remember correctly, they use some form of DirectX 10.
Someone should try this! Not that I have a Windows Mobile phone. It'd just be interesting to see if it could work.

I know at least some mobile phones have a 1 GHz processor, and about 512 megs of RAM, maybe more?? I used to play SRO on an AMD Athlon 3200+ with 512 MB of RAM and a generic graphics card.
Internet bandwidth on the phone wouldn't be so bad. I've heard of people playing SRO on dialup. I played SRO pretty recently for 2 weeks with my laptop tethered on my 3G Palm Pre.
I think the one thing that might be a problem is the graphics processor on a mobile phone. I would think at least some phones might have enough RAM and CPU speed.

It just might be possible
That is so freaking awesome! With this techonology you'll be able to play ANY game on your computer or Android phone/tablet, as long as it's installed on your main pc. I just signed up for the beta. I can't wait for it to be ready

So that's some sort of remote desktop in the cloud kind of thing? It has to be running on your main PC?
I'm talking about actually having your phone render the game so you don't have to rely on a PC. As someone mentioned, it would be difficult to play on a tiny screen, but it'd be cool to be able to do it.

Well, the future of gaming is on its way. Download program called OnLive (www.onlive.com), you can play several games (that are on list) with your internet connection, your monitor will be only used for displaying, while their hardware will run the game.
Its pretty cool software, you can spectate what other people are playing.
Using that program you could play Assassin's Creed on your smartphone, if you can run OnLive.

That's quite pathetic. Can't you wait to get home to play on a real computer?
It's not that I can't wait to get home. I barely even play SRO. I sometimes play around a bit on Gaia and Azteca, but that's about it. I like to do things like this just because I can, to see if it can be done.
I don't HAVE to root my Palm Pre and install a whole bunch of patches on it, but I did.
I don't HAVE to port the software we use on an embedded Linux system at work to my Palm Pre, but I would be tempted to, just to see if it works since both systems use the same processor.
It's fun to do things just for the challenge.
