Hi, i've been playing SRO for quite some time , about 2 months or so, but the problem is , I got hacked for atleast 3 times already. My vending char was hacked, but only the money was taken, then i chged the password after that, after 2 days it got hacked again. So i suspect that my pc has a keylogger and i reformatted my pc. Sadly after a month + , my main got hacked , and only money got taken, other stuffs are not taken.

Anyone has any idea about who's doing all these hackings? My char usually ended up in jangan storage after being hacked. I wish i know who's doing these hackings so that i can prevent my account from being hacked again >.>

Don't download any bad crap on your pc. Get a good virusscanner. Change pw regulary. I lost money 2 times too but it was probably a friend who knew the info that took it. Change my pw and it never happened again, I just never found out who it was lol.

Anyway back to you, those are the best things you can do, and ofcourse make sure that if you trust people with your info, make sure that they can be trusted. You gave out your info before perhaps?

Make sure nobody is near u when u tipe your password or u don't have a network friend ho spy on u .

yup, sucks for you. theres no way to tell who is hacking you. since its happing multiple times event after you change your password i recommend creating a new account. move all your stuff onto the new account since they didn't take it. and by new account i dont mean make a new char, i mean a whole new account. get a new e-mail for it and everything.

i have already created 3 new vending chars, yet they still got hacked, i seriously have no idea what's going on and i was wondering should i still continue playing this game? =/

ps: I'm always alone at home, so im pretty sure that no one is looking at me when im typing my passwords, anyway thanks alot guys! Love such helpful community in this forum <3

Best you can do then is format your disk and then be extra carefull with what you download. Also you can use www.virustotal.com to get a file scanned by like 10-15 different virusscanners.

thanks, but out of all those games that i've played, only silkroad got hacked repeatedly. I never got hacked in other games =/

It's not silkroad's fault, if that is what you are implying.

Here's some things you can do to keep from being hacked :
1) don't bot or use third party sro programs
2) don't have someone else play your account or give out your account info.
3) don't make your userid and password easy.
4) don't accept files from friends who know you play sro or friends of friends who know you play sro

samething happend to a guild mate, he has a sun spear(not a Magic Pop) and they only took his gold. Union said it could be a gold company but I'm not so sure.

I'll be the ass and point this out. He's getting hacked because he's using some multiclient program. He stated he believes he has some kind of keylogger on his computer since both his main and his staller got hacked. He's using both on the same computer, which isn't really possible unless you go out of your way. Now he's saying he's making 3 new stallers.... right...

No concrete proof, but doesn't take much to add 1 + 1 here.



So he's running several characters on the same computer, all of whom are getting hacked one by one.

i already had that problem last month and i already recover.

what I did is format the computer, download and updated antivirus, try to use AVG and full scan your computer.

there were virus called trojanhorse.onlinegame or etc. correct me if im wrong.

the character of my friend didn't modified his account since he forgot his secret question and now use his character and level it again.

that virus was only detect high level character like 70+ or something. they did not use your account pw or id as long as when u login they detected it and after you dc they will use your character. after that u will got banned for first offense.

don't use sro main forum
don't visit bad site
don't dl any program from other forum beside SRF
don't use bot/3rd pt prog

If you cannot control your emotions then go somewhere else man. I have premium on my main account, so i can log in as i like . I always log in my vendor in the morning when im out to school( for my place , its easy to log in in the morning ). When i came back from school , my vendor got hacked, so i created a new one, since those that got hacked are no longer safe . I'm not using all of them simultaneously.

I only play my main during the night. Ever since my vendor accounts got hacked, i transferred all my money to my main and never log in my vendor for quite some time already. If you don't know anything about me please don't accuse me for using mutliclient.

Being accused is one thing, being guilty is totally a different thing. I'm just trying to sort out the cause of this, not trying to whine or something. Since you are so familiar about multiclients, wouldnt that make you a multiclient user as well? I believe that im not the only one whose account got hacked with only the money gone. And one more thing , I Don't use multiclient programmes.

yea i tried AVG, after reformatting my pc . And i thought it worked, until yesterday. That's why im posting this up to see if any other ppl got hacked in the same way too. btw my char is only 4x, so i dont think im a high lvl.

Right, cuz that makes sense that since one staller used for selling got hacked, you must make 3 of them to replace him, even though you can only log on one at a time. My posts shows so much information about multi by mentioning it. Your deducing skills are Sherlock-level my good man.

Funny too, I've played for over 4 years, and people have given me a bunch of characters, although I have 2 of my own. My main one, and one i made a long time ago when Legend 1 was released. I use the euro for stalling on my desktop since i can leave it on for days. Add the 15+ characters I share with friends and switch with my main when I get bored and wanna play a different build, amazing how i've never been "hacked" in over 4 years of playing. If you get hacked, you only have yourself to blame. You fell for a website scam, were dl cheap, bad pron, or you use some 3rd party program.

The only time anyone truly got "hacked" was during JM portal exploit and when someone dl that list of user IDS. Btw, i have 3 characters on that list, NONE of which are hacked. I don't really use any of them much, but i log in every few months to check and mess around.


I digress, you seem sad you lost your characters, so here's a tip. Wipe your computer, and this time, don't download any more 3rd party programs for SRO. If you do, well I'll see you in another week when you make a new topic, "My characters got hacked again, HOW?!"

the way your worded your first post really does seem like your running more than 1 client. any experienced sro player knows that people that have vendors also have another char online usually botting. The way you stated your problem is how Goseki came to that conclusion and most 3rd pty program users are hacked so he just pit 1+1 together.

as for your problem, there must be a key logger somewhere on your system. its the only way all your accounts would be hacked. try reinstalling sro and keep doing virus scans. doing 1 scan wont always find it. i scam my computer once every month about 20 times and every time it finds something new.

I never lost any of my characters, as i said in the first post. The only thing that is lost is my money.
When my FIRST vending character got hacked, i created another one to replace the first one since the first one is no longer safe to use. But after 2 days, the same thing happened. So i suspect that my PC has a keylogger and i reformatted my PC, and created the 3rd vending char to use. Ever since then , everytime i earned a certain amount of money, I will transfer them to my main with the help of my friend. Nothing has happened after my PC was reformatted until yesterday. This time my main account got hacked. Clear enough?



I have never run more than one client on my pc , i only vend my items when im out to school. when im back home i will switch to my main character since i have a premium on it. The reason i created a vendor is to sell both mine and my friend's item since we both play sro together. Im pretty sure that he didnt do the hacking as we have played quite a number of games together.

if he knows your login info then he is probably the hacker. you cant trust anyone with you login info, not even your "friends"

Eh, I use like 10+ accounts to pvp with since my friends feel bad that my nooby character that I rarely lvl up gets owned too much. I could take all the gold for like 12bil plus, but I have no value, or incentive, to take it. It just depends on your "friends."

Your all about exposing each other using 3rd party programms and even though i havent been around here for long this is quite obvious to see. I may not post much but I read alot. Quit this shit already, and get back your sense for humanity.

I perfectly well understood the part when he said he made 3 new vending accounts after they all got hacked. If you had some common sense and werent all about exposing each other for shit, you would have understood straight away too.

Secondly, quit spamming these threads to get your post count up. there has been like what? 3 different people who said he probably has a keylogger on his computer, dont you think he understood what was being said when the first person made that very obvious? I would understand perfectly if someone tells me i have a keylogger, i dont need 10 other ppl telling me the same, its senseless spam and really just trying to get ur post count up. and NO YOU ARE NOT BEING HELPFUL AT ALL JUST BECAUSE YOU POST YOUR OPINION EVEN THOUGH SOMEONE WHO HAD THE SAME OPINION ALREADY POSTED THE EXACT SAME THING.

May I ask if you visited and suspicious websites or downloaded anything recently before the hacking attacks started? If you dont want to make public what you downloaded or visited you can pm me and I can take a look into it if youd like and tell you what of these things may be causing it.

Im not sure if you did already reformat your pc, if you do though then i suppose write down needful programms or web adresses on a paper sheet or a word document and print it and then kill absolutely everything on your pc, format your harddrive, dont save anything. to make sure you dont accidently redownload the cause of this mess because the programm itself may be useful to you.

If all this doesnt help, then you might want to buy a new harddrive.

About your friend, well you can never be sure, not even with real life friends. Even if they seem trustworthy. Some suddenly turn very greedy and take a good opportunity.
Im not sure if you have his account info, if you do maybe log in his account and see if lately he made alot of money and if he did try to figure if his recent income matches or at least gets close to what you lost. then you know for sure whether or not it was him.

Just dont trust anyone, I have done that, a friend of mine played my account for several years when I played my other char and one night she gave away my account info to someone she didnt know very well and not very long, but seemed trustworthy to her. Oh well she was young and stupid, we all make mistakes i suppose. and shes just too nice with ppl. she trust anyone very easily. shes a very nice person and stuffs, you get the idea.
And yet it ended up with the guy she gave my infos to stripping my character and everything that was on it, after the account info had been handed to the whole server. worst part about it was it took me weeks to get it out of her. She didnt tell me nor apologized for giving my infos away, but knowing she was the only one whom knew my infos and i had not used 3rd party programms and not visited suspicious websites or downloaded any crap it could have been only her. There you go, even your best friends do stupid stuff like this.
Even though this story might not match the topic, its just to get you a bare idea of what friends can do, even if you cannot and will not believe your friends would do that. it opened my eyes though, ever since I never gave my account info away again.

Well okay I did, but to a very good friend (yes it sounds like im a hypocrit) but after i got hacked he didnt want me to quit so he said he would buy me silks every month as long as i kept on playing, because i didnt wanna invest money again into the game. and whenever he bought me the silk i immediately changed my password, and i changed it once a week to make sure he would not get the chance to take a good opportunity.

Anyway, I hope I could open everyones eyes a little bit.

Welcome to SRF. I didn't bother jumping on people that used 3rd party shit, but after awhile, it gets really boring and repetitive reading the same topics of "OMG i got hacked! How could it have happened to my 10 ff lvl 100 characters that I made last month :O"

Even if it's not as blatant as that, it does get dull. The only real hackings occur from JM's fault and their website security.

You know what's even more annoying, when people say "bad websites" dl keyloggers and viruses into your computer and stole your password, hence causing you to get hacked... BULLSHIT!!!

Most harmful websites aim for a few things, money, cc, and social security. The only sights that would honestly put a keylogger on your computer to just steal your SRO info would be :

A) Click here for duped gold on SRO!
B) BOT
C) 3rd party SRO sites.

Who the hell in their right programming mind would be out to make and put a keylogger on someone's computer to not steal money and personal information, but instead aim to steal a SRO account from some kid. Only people that are interested in hacking a SRO account would be SRO players. That's like if I were to go and try to hack someone's WOW account. I don't give a fck about WOW. He could toss me his info and i'd just throw it back at him. It would be a waste of time unless I happen to run some kind of business dealing with WOW gold or character selling.

When was this "JM Portal Exploit"? I've been playing as long as you have, and I don't remember it. It was probably when I was taking multiple breaks from the game. Was this exploit recent?

No i think this is actually like 1 or 2 years ago. I remember back then one of my friends got hacked because of this too. and joymax just laughed at him.

Its kinda brutal seeing how they need to rollback for little issues but when shit like this happens they never bothered to rollback... Sad... just sad..

you obviously have no clue how much money you can earn in silkroad.
You should also stop blaming the users ( i do agree with you in most cases its your own fault to be hacked) it has been proven before how easy it is to get user information from joymax, the only thing that might have changed is the people that have such skills are keeping it underground since they know its easy cash.
They wont even try to hack wow accounts since they know the company does care, so they go for the easier cash, you get hacked in silkroad! joymax simply say its your own fault, most of the silkroad hackers don`t even play this game anymore the only thing they do is login the stalls to sell the hacked items i am pretty sure on every server there are a few stallers known to sell decent gear very very cheap everyday some of them even with silver premium simply because they earn that much money to waste a few premiums on each server.

Install TeamViewer. I'll try to find virus on your pc, help you fix things, install for you a good antivirus.
I can also help you setup a firewall to stop your sister or you to visit bad site.

did you try full scan your computer?
If yes, what virus it is detected?

I recommend to use keyscrambler. search it on Google:
it will scramble the letters you entered in the website and games you log on to and change you password and email.

keyscrambler work for me, someone has try to log my account once again but they didn't succeed it.

i am using keyscrambler..
