Learned about the cities in silkroad like Dunhuang/Chang'an/Xian/Hotan/ Samarkand (they are spelled incorrectly in the game), and about Karakorum, Taklamakan, Dunhuang caves, etc.

Certain aspects of other peoples culture. I feel that when people find a common place (enjoy playing the game) they can better set their differences aside, and freely talk with others. I've learned much about middle eastern "culture". Much is useless, but sometimes entertaining.

learned that not everyone on the game is a complete idiot. learned that the game is good with good friends and i also learned last night when i logged on that kids hold grudges forever and get angry when they still cant kill you after a 7 month break. also learned that some turks are pretty cool. you just have to wade through all their yelling before they realize your not trying to start shit and just want to talk with them.

I've learned that the company Joymax is ran by a bunch of Korean Jews. I've also learned a lot not only about the real silkroad but also the country of Turkey and how they are guilty of genocide and still deny it. It must be a very common thing in that part of the world to deny facts. (Iranian president denies holocaust) I have a phobia of getting 3 strikes in a row in bowling now. I don't think my brain can handle "Turkey!!!","Turkey!!!","Turkey!!!" retro flashing across the screens.

Even tho i feel a strong urge to reply for anti-turks here, i wont. no matter what i (or anyone) say, what you think about turkey/turks wont change, so its a lose of time.
so on topic, i cant say that it i learnt so much from sro, i knew about the real silkroad before (yea, we learn it in history classes here), maybe it helped me to improve my english a little more and i learnt not to trust/believe everyone on web. apart from these, i cant say you can learn much from sro.
