 Post subject: Frostwall Series: works in PVE, bugged in PVP

The frostwall series is an active skill, where the player creates a wall of ice around him to absorb physical based attacks. It grands the caster an additional amount of HP and an increased physical absorbion ratio.

The way it works in PVE (player vs environment, read: mobs) is that the additional HP has to be broken down completely before the players own HP can be attacked in full. During this process the attacker can actually land hits on the caster through the active wall, however with the increased physical absorbation ratio that comes with the casted wall this damage is reduced considerably! The extra HP however remains intact during such attacks and is not effected.

(So when fighting monsters it's a very usefull skill, especially fighting giants and uniques and mostly for INT based players (seeing they are the most vulnerable to physical based attacks. When the wall is up, you gain additional HP that has be broken down and when an attack does get through the wall the damage is lower then it would be without while the remaining frost wall HP remains intact. Comes in handy when you want to replenish your health when fight physical based monsters.)


In PVP (players vs player, read: capefight, job- and guildwar) however the frostwall series is bugged severely! There is NO additional HP that can be broken down where the physical absorbation ratio has been increased beyond imagination. Using this skill during PVP is basicly worthless, where the wall is broken down within a matter of miliseconds and completely.


If this skillbook were to work in the same way in PVP as it would in PVE, it would be a lot more fun and also a bit more easy to fight STR based characters. I'm not sure if the same bug exists in KSRO, but with the skills` current status in ISRO i fail to see the use of keeping my Extreme Wall....



I tested it and it IS bugged, if you don't believe me just test your wall yourself in takla to see how the wall works against monsters and afterwards get a blader or glaiver in your guild to hit you and see how the wall works then...


Dumb ass Joymax.... i want my extreme ice wall to be EXTREME <_<

Yeah I noticed it was breaking in one hit like every time. Castle wall works wonders though. Nonetheless a fix would be nice. Firewall works well also.

It would make pvp for archers a lot better, heh. But I don't see Joymax fixing this problem anytime soon. If they do, they'll probably stuff something else up anyway.

yeah i thought thats how it is...like many things such as electric shock doesn't work in pvp...like if a mob gets shock it will sometimes freeze in shock or w.e...but in pvp u NEVER get shock..but i think in job wars and guildwars u do

I didnt see any bug -.-
When u fight against mob, mob deal only 1 type of attack : physical or magical. Frost wall save your HP against physical attack, Fire wall against magical attack.
Unlike in pvp, players use both physical & magical attack which come from skill weapon & imbue. Therefore, frost wall wont protect u from magical attack and u still be damaged. Same with fire wall.
It is broken down easily because the damage of the attacker at any lvl is very higher than the HP of the wall. A pure str at lvl 70 can deal 12k dmg, will deal 5k dmg (from physical part) to the wall with 50% absorption, so that's why it is always broken in 2 hits. Uhm, i didnt test if the caster receive dmg from that pure str with frost wall because weapon + imbue is consider as an magical attack in this case. What i can say is firewall is better than icewall in anycase pvp (totally block nuke & attack with imbue)

im level 77 on full last tier equip and got my extreme wall at level 3 for now wich gives me an extra 6k hp to physical attacks. my 76 glaiver guildie hits me 2.2 sss each where my icewal should NOT break but instead it takes just a single sss movie to take it down.... and the dmg of that single move was 40 damage only...

yeah thats gay, sure extreme lowering of dmg but i'd rather have my wall still up after that attack <_< extreme bug wall it should be called

Whatever. U still didnt understand why the wall is break easily -.-' . The 2.2k dmg show in the screen is the dmg deal to your character. But the dmg dealed to the wall is much more higher, because wall doesnt have physical defence nor magical defence, around 6k dmg. The 6k dmg wont show in the screen, but will be keep in memory and break the wall when wall HP = 0. Since the wall u use is Ice wall and the damage dealer uses weapon skill + imbue which is consider as magical attack, your char is still damage.
Fire wall works differently. The imbue convert the attack to magical attack so that firewall block totally the attack (not sure about this :|). The dmg show in the screen is the dmg deals to the wall, with the same reason like above.
The explaination would be more clear if u gave SS of your test with fire and ice all....
