I think this is true. I was grinding on Yetis, which were white, and Devil Yetis, which were orange. The Yetis dropped WAY more tabs and weapons than the Devils, and I killed an equal amount of each I would say. So, in my opinion, green and white drop rate is higher.

And so what if you don't need them, you can always NPC them for mad loot at higher lvls when the drops are worth 600k+ ea for lvl 64+ gear and weapons. OR, you could stall them for the nooblets that need them. Either way, that is where the money is at. Not to mention the possible alchemic drops that you'll get. It all adds up to money, money, and more money!
