Ok, we all love SRO. Its a great game and by far the best free mmorpg on the internet. There are however many things to be fixed and as we all know, SRO will continue to be patched over and over for years to come.

I started playing last Christmas. It was my first mmorpg ever. I was extreamly impressed with the graphics, among other things. Obviosly the gameplay back then was, well, upsetting. Now, major improvements have been made and the game has made some upgrades, but still seems to have a long way to go.

I got up the lvl 28 with one character, then stoped playing for a while. Then I switched servers and got to 23. So as you can see I have not gotten that deep into the game, I will get to that later. My point now is that the game needs to get better, throughout. They need something to keep the player hooked.

Now the reason that I told you a bit about my history with SRO, is because I have played other games besides this, mmorpgs, besides this. Amoung them, you guessed it, World of Warcraft. Wow is a fantastic game, but the price tag for continuous play makes me shy away from it. I am NOT going to compare the games. but I will say this.

The movement of SRO is very limited and boring. Clicking to move from place to place is not exciting at all! ARG! It almost makes me angry because when I want to play the game my mind jumps to thinking about that movent factor. I propose we request more freedom in movement. Using the WASD keys to move (and perhaps even go as crazy as to making a jump button, yea, I went there) would increase the feeling freedom in the game. Without it, it kind of feels like a outdated game.

Another thing, a HUGE thing, and it may never be fixed or worked on, but, there is only a sertain amount of wepon and clothing types. Which makes for a, kind of boring adventure. Alot of people early on look a lot a like, and even some in the later levels, that sucks. Man, that would be the best improvement of all to this game. Diffrent wepons and clothing would realy add to the fun factor if you will. Instead of making different a cooler looking more powerful wepons, they made "SOS" wepons, give me a break, don't be lazy! MAKE NEW WEPONS AND ARMOR!!! Keep the SOS feature though, its cool to upgrade your stuff, but come on.

Another Hay-UGE thing, is character skins. DUH!! Can we gets some races going here! Something. Midigits, Elvs SOMETHING!!! OMG! I LOOK LIKE THAT GUY! AND THIS GUY! SHE LOOKS LIKE HIM! I, HE, SHE, WE, IT!!! Come on, this game has been out for too long to still only have 6 or 7 diffrent skins for male and female! Heres an idea, make a shemale class, that way you have a whole 18 choises! Come on, if you need someone to make 3d models for you, hire someone.

Also, and this also may be something that they can't change this either, but mabey some more cities... Jangan, Donwhang, and Hotan GET OLD! They are not even that big, you could have made them naturaly look bigger buy spreading out the shops. The Rich Village, the Gambling place, and other places are never populated, and they are really beautiful enviornments, and no one sees them.

Classes. There is one class, warrior. No Healer, No Mage, no vairity. Thats what people look for in mmorpgs, vairity. Its gets old and dull, knowing that everyone can do, whatever you can do... yea.

THINGS I DO LIKE...
I do like...
1. Choices in Magic, Fire, Ice, ect.
2. Monster Varitiy
3. Pet system
4. Constant improvements
5. Gameplay (sometimes)

Oh, sorry. My point is the game's potencial is not being reached. I would love a mmorpg that is not costly and owns at the same time, just like everyone elce. Just so much potencial that is so easy to reach.

I am talking about a REAL choice, sure you can mold you character into a sertain "build", but I don't see anyone casting spells or adding buffs to others.

Perhaps you should learn how to spell first. Don't play if you have so many complaints. Half the people don't care. We play because this game has thing to offer us. F00l.

You read to much into version numbers. The game is out of beta sure. But it is nowhere near complete. It is just basically playable. not feature complete. So the reason that it seems to have a long way to go. Well that is because it does.

I present to you the mystifying and hidden arrow keys. With these magical keys you can invoke your character to move sans mouse. Sure it would be nice if you had options to rebind them to something else. But it is there if you need it.

If jumping actually served some purpose I would be all for it. But I have a hard time seeing how it would improve on things as they currently exist. Jumping for the sake of saying "look at me jumping" seems frivolous and not any sort of indicator to a games datedness.

The system that exists now has a simplistic charm to it. It is straight forward and rather simple to use. But choices all around will increase when we get the euro update. And new unique content will continue to be added regularly like the santa sets and the dragon flags.

The Manus wrote:

No. Methinks you miss the premise of the game. Everyone over there in asia tends to be short. :D Maybe they should include some giants. Or maybe they could just allow a bit more variation of height. And elves are right out. Instead we have asian animal spirits and demon spirits. True it would be fun with a bit more variation on the two groups. Like a female monkey spirit and a male feline spirit. But elves? No thanks.

Errrrrrrrrrrrr. Why do they need a shemale class? Honestly you can't see the char naked. So use your imagination to pretend that you are actually a shemale or a butch dyke. No one will be able to tell the difference anyhow. :D

Constantinople and others are coming with the euro update. There is lots of information on the subject. And as for those places in jangan. I use them regularly. They are quite handy. And you are not quite correct about them not being big. Have you been to the turtle ferries in hotan? :D in the end though. No matter how much they increase the size of the town. Everyone is always gonna cluster around the NPCs and that is always gonna slow you down. And honestly the NPCs are about the only reasons I go to town.

The Manus wrote:

You look for strict structure and call that variety? You can be anything you want. All you have to do is build it. There are no restrictions on how you can build though. Unlike most other MMOs that pigeon hole you. You are faced with so much choice you fail to comprehend it. You want a warrior? Invest heavy into str points. You want a mage? Invest heavy into int points. You want a healer? There are guides for that as well. Though IMHO since character points have no effect on the force branch I find high str char make good healers as they can take alot of damage while they heal without dying.

Stick around. Read the update threads. There is alot in the pipeline you are apparently not aware of.

Perhaps you should address your own faults before attacking others?

on topic...
Although I believe you need to experience the game past the first 2x levels to see the potential, he does bring up some decent points.

Just one class is a bit flawed.

There is healer and there is mage.

Cleric is a great class for healer as well as Bard for support.

Wizard and Warlock both bring good things to the table, like a Mage would.

Rogue and Warrior provides both melee combat as well as ranged combat. (Crossbow)

When you observe a party consisting of both europeans and chinese heroes, you see alot of variety.

They have different armor, different weapons, different look altoghether as well as their distinctive skills.

I was aware of the arrow keys and knew someone would point it out. With these keys you can litteraly only move forward. You can also of course use the left and right ones to turn, buts thats it.

Anyways, I can kind of see what you are comming from on the rest of the points. Understand all of my suggestions, are simply just suggestions. Nothing more.

Aslo, thank you for responding so frivolusly.

Yes, it does has a long way to go.

The main draw of this game is the PvP aspect. Surely, there needs to be other motives to keep players hooked, but you have yet to experience the game. In my opinion, the game doesn't start until your are lvl 52. Everything before is just to familiarize yourself with the controls and different aspects of the game.

I see nothing wrong with clicking where you want to go. This is a MMORPG, not a FPS, the option would be nice, but its not necessary in order to have a joyful gaming experience.

I understand what you're saying. It would be nice to have the option of other types of gears to wear during gameplay. Although, I like the fact that you can look at someone and know their lvl range but not know their exact lvl because the gear at that degree is similar.

Migets? Elves? We're in ancient China. Besides, its not like any other MMORPG character skins dwarf SRO's character skin selection. The amount we can choose from is decent but I agree that it wouldn't hurt to have more choices.

New places are already in developed and some completed in kSRO. The European towns are completely bigger than Jangan, Donwhang, and Hotan. On a bad side, its a pain having to run half a mile just to get a quest from a person on the other side of town. The Chinese side has a warm feel to it. Which would explain its visuals. The visuals don't seem as sharp as other MMORPG's (even though they are) because of the warm feeling the China area has. The Europe area has a cool feel to it, so its visuals may seem better to some people than China's visuals. I also agree that it would be nice to have options to do things in those places that look great but aren't used for anything.

I like how the China chracters are open ended. You can pick any character skin and make them how you want them. You can be pure int, pure str, or hybrid. It doesn't force you to be a specific build just because you look a certain way, use certain gear, or distribute stat points differently. The Chinese characters are innovative. There is plenty of variety. It seems to be that you want a generic MMORPG. You want a warrior, mage, healer, etc. If you want that, then wait for the European half of SRO to be released. You will get your generic warlock, tanker builds, wizard, healer, etc. If you want to play with the sort of standard MMORPG builds, then you can create a European character. If you want to be a one man killing machine that can do all by his/her self, create a Chinese character. As for me, I enjoy being a one man army.

About the Clothes, we have 9 lvls of weapons and gear, however, there are going to be 4 more.

About the races, OMG in China there isn`t elves!

Even it doesn`t look like, building a char is a free and multiple choice in china system.
If you want char like Wizards, Rogues, etc, Wait for the Euro Patch.

I think it`s a great game, even if it`s not even the 40% of it`s total
We also have to wait for the Islam race, this is gonna be a very Big Game, with so multiple choices, so multiple armors and weapons (13 Degree for ecach kind of gear - we have 3 - for each race... )

Clothes? Skins? Races?...This is a game not some fashion show :P

The game play is decent and balanced somewhat.

The grinding? Bleh, mostly one monster at a time for most characters.

It's the player interactions and activities that are most needed in this so called "MMORPG."

Seriously, a party of 4 not together completely defeats the purpose of a party. Then a party of 8 with no benefit is a dull party. A party with a bot is boring. A party with a hacker is dangerous. A party with GMs? They don't want to party.
