Since over 50% of sro players are reader of SRF, i was wondering if we could make a guild database similar to silkroadtavern

http://www.silkroadtavern.com/forums/index.php?act=portal&site=4&page=guilds&server=0®ion=0&ord=GuildName

plz block this topic if its already been posted

over 50% of players read srf? really? i don't think that's true.... that would mean over 1mil readers of srf since joymax claims over 2mil players..... course there r players of ksro, vsro, jsro, csro, and tsro....

many who read are not registered. as we speak, there are nearly 3x as many non-registered users viewing this forum as registered ones.

A guild database would just get spammed with noobie guilds half of which get abonded, much like the one at tavern did.

Then only log the guilds worth logging. IE only guilds that have reached level 3. And that are active. Simple solution for a good idea.

Yes that is simple....cause I'm a member of 8 very active guilds all lvl 5. Now prove me wrong.

You can't. Thats the issue. And yes I "could be" a member of 8 and no I'm not. But either way you can't prove it. So....your simple solution needs a bit of work. It would be nice if there were a "simple" way to see the guilds registered, their active members, ave playing time, ave lvl etc. But unless JM implements this we will have to "take your word for it". How ever much your "word" is worth. :P

Again...your idea isn't bad....its just completely without any way of enforcing it. Unless you haven't mentioned something......<hint>

That would be pretty difficult to keep updated. That would mean that each guild leader would have to go out of there way to post here on the development of their guild and most of that is stuff they don't like to reveal. >.> Cool idea if it was something that was done automatically by the game.

I think this game needs something like a hall of fame, to make high lvl player a little less bored.

Something like the top 20 players in each job (by job xp) and the top 20 guilds (by GP ? war points ? both in 2 different ranking ?).
At least it could make a goal for full farmed lvl70 that are bored. And could be fun to look at :)

level 5 guilds only would strain out noob guilds if such a feature would be implemented. There would be a big boom in joining for gimmik feature but without any events for a guild database would allow it to collect dust just like the one on tavern. I don't really see a point in doing something like this as you can put your guild in your sig and not all guilds use this forum as a medium. Half of the SRO community? try 1% if we're lucky. there is a vast number of players that play this game on other versions. but on iSRO? c'mon, half of the people would be a huge overstatement at the very least.

i give this idea a thumbs down

Well good points Mangyang...but why would someone make up guilds to be registered on a database? What'd be the point? :?

I'm not saying someone would fully make up a guild I'm saying someone might stretch the truth to get around the lvl 3 or higher guild requirement. Because they "think" it makes them look cool. It doesn't but thats why they'd do it. :banghead:

We would need a better method to limit guild database cruft. Its a cool idea but.....hard to get it to work "well" in practice.
