I dunno what gaymax were thinking by resetting the job xp for this new job update. I had a lvl 7 trader and lvl 6 hunter which took a long time and with the old system and besides having fun with guild mates and the occasional job war but we still kept doing our trade runs and leveling up our job so that maybe we would get rewarded with a new job suit or a job buff or even increase the gold reward for a successful trade run.

For gaymax to reset everything is like a kick in the face to people who played this and enjoyed the game the way it was designed. Probably many of you here thought the old job system sucked but then again I am not sure if any high ranking hunter/traders read these forums at all. It was the only fun and legit thing to do in this dead game. In babel you would have some dodgy thieves (hello full sun arabs) looting their trader friends loots to level up their thief rank but for hunters and traders there was no such exploiting and no, you couldn't use third party programs to do trade runs lol.

Imagine the bot rage if gaymax resetted the honor rankings, the high ranking players got their ranking by having their bot guilds and powerleveling ten characters at a time with their bot to get their maximum buffs making them stronger in pvp, but legit jobbers were given nothing and now having nothing to show for it now except for a bit of sp lol.

As for the "compensation", wow dude 100k sp, thats not even 2 days work in the cave for something that took months and years to accomplish. At least when they changed the job system back at 80 cap they did not reset our job xp. /end rant

hmm on my main character under the 70 cap the job system i was lvl 2 hunter lvl 3 thief and i dont remember my trader probably it was 1 since gain in thief xp decreased my trader xp, i remember losing my job level but i still kept my thief exp when after i chose to become a full time hunter in the newer update when they removed mercenaries and made us use job aliases.

You lost the exp you built up but you were given quite a bit of SP as compensation....I'm pissed about my special Hunter ID, Black Devil ID, and Special Trader flag...all lost..gone...these special IDs were worth good money...

Lvl 7/6 eh, pretty sure you got like 100k sp each. That's not bad. I know it sucks losing a nice rank but if you really have a lvl 7 and a lvl 6 job char you certainly love jobbing. With this update they added alot of stuff for jobs, yes there are some big chances (removal of traders) but you got all those gear options and recipes and job skills and what not. I think that you'll love this just as much if you put some time in it.

job resetting was a good idea. i know it sucks for legits but im all for anything that pisses off bots. i dont care how joymax does it.. just do it lol.

how about... any1 plvling at ongs or sungs... insta banned.
ok we would lose maybe... 20 legits? but think of the thousands of bots banned!
gotta take with one hand to gain with the other ;)

Come back when they do that and they banned one of your chars. Even though you're right, I don't think you should just ban everyone lol... And I don't think that the job reset pisses off many bots but oh well.

on babel the top hunters and traders were legits and were basically the same top hunters and traders since the fortress war update (early 2008?) some of them like the gemlik hunters were already top hunters before the euro patch, so this reset is like more than 3 years of job xp wasted.
for more than a year triangular conflict outside of the job temple was basically dead, "jobbing" for the majority of bot babel just meant farming sp. this was not because of the game itself, it was because majority of bot players sucked at their class when it came to job pve and pvp since all they did all day was bot afk or "pvp" outside samarkand and despite their gear and their numbers could not compete with the pro hunters and traders, even with their full sun nova gear it was still sad seeing their transport die after every npc spawn on a regular 5 star trade run lol. ive talked to many players on babel and they are delighted with the job reset since now everything is "equal". thats right the botters already with their full nova, fully botted honor buffs and billions of bought and botted gold could not "buy" job xp but now they can now start on an "equal" footing with the legits. /endrant

Now that i understand the new job system, it doesn't suck so bad, but i still like the old one more.
