I see a lot has changed, and probably for the worse. Still, the servers seem to be on Easy mostly, how come? When I quit they were full 24\7 pretty much.
I've had various characters throughout the years, the highest being a level 55(not too high, but I had some nice equipment and whatnot) and a bunch of 30-40s. Are the Chinese builds still the same? (Pure STR or Pure INT, with some basic skill leveling) Or are there some effective complex builds?
Anyway, I have a few more questions. What do you feel about SRO right now? What major things have changed throughout all this time (I left a bit before the major guild update)? Also, how do I access the stall network? I can't seem to find it...
Are there any high level players who aren't botters? It seemed there were more bots than people when I logged in to Sparta recently. And while we're at that, what's up with the American servers? Are they any better? Are any servers better than the rest?
Sorry for the overload of questions, I'm pretty curious about all these things. I used to play tons.
Forgot to mention. I started playing SRO when Troy was new, and I started on Troy. I think it was still a beta or something. I was some shitty hybrid because it was my first character, and I got to level 32 or so. I quit that old character since then and started those others I mentioned.

They got statues ingame on the mainroutes of goldbots, these statues autoattack anything in range so alot of server space freed up since there are less goldbots.

(Pure STR or Pure INT, with some basic skill leveling) Or are there some effective complex builds? Well it's mostly 110/110/110 or 110/110/90/20 or 80/30 builds both pure int and str. There are some people that like 70:70 archers or 1:5/7/9 hybrid int spears. The main focus of new chars is euro though.
Anyway, I have a few more questions. What do you feel about SRO right now? What major things have changed throughout all this time (I left a bit before the major guild update)? New areas/caps came, fortress got introduced and alot more silk items. These latest updates kinda got me back on sro. Also, how do I access the stall network? I can't seem to find it... Jangan/hotan/constan got a guy called the consignment manager, it is basically the new stall network. Talk to him and you can search items that are registered from all the three towns. Also you can register items (10 max) yourself. The best part about this update is the fact you don't have to be online anymore to keep these items in the 'stall network'.
Are there any high level players who aren't botters? It seemed there were more bots than people when I logged in to Sparta recently. And while we're at that, what's up with the American servers? Are they any better? Are any servers better than the rest? There are a few but not many are left xD

Welcome back, have fun on the silkroad I'd say ^^

Hahah. The statue thing seems awesome. Can't they just work around those paths or something though?
Also, my memory is a bit vague with the builds, what would 80/30 mean? And 1:5 means one point in STR (for example) for every 5 in INT?
My characters are Chinese by the way, aside from a 32 Euro warrior.

They do. The GMs don't move or spawn them nearly as much as they should.

Also, my memory is a bit vague with the builds, what would 80/30 mean? And 1:5 means one point in STR (for example) for every 5 in INT? With 80/30 I mean a tree to lvl 80 and lvl 30. You have 330 mastery limit now and max char lvl is 110. So you usually end up with a 110(weapon tree)/110(force tree)/110(force tree) build. Some people prefer to get 90/20 or 80/30 instead of the third 110 force tree. And yes you are correct with the 1:5 ratio ^^
My characters are Chinese by the way, aside from a 32 Euro warrior. Well Chinese chars are fun, I prefer them over Euro chars but I do have to acknowledge that probably 90% of the new chars are Euro based (rogue/wiz/warrior)

Sweet. Thanks for the answers guys.
How are jobs now? Is it still completely unsafe unless you have some top levels protecting you? Or did they change the system a bit?

40 and under can do safe 1* trades and thieves will spawn npc hunters now so there is no more popping. Also you get like 3 safe trades a day or something (saw something like that on my 84 cleric o.O)

You mean three safe one star trades you can do at any level, or what?
Also, I found tons of Earth Ghost masks in my storage, haha. Are those things worth anything?
And what are those Dimension Hole things?
Tons of questions, heh.

And what are those Dimension Hole things? Newest update, those big rocks randomly spawn around grinding people. Once you 'kill' it, it will spawn champion envy's (weird mobs with giant key as weapon). Kill them and you might get a portal to the forgotten world, it's the latest update from sro. Introduced on the 21st.
Tons of questions, heh.

How come many people are recommending Force as a tree instead of any other? Did they update\improve it?

Force has some great debuffs but it's not really suited for todays sro play. I love force but I also love 1v1 pvp, that why it fits me so well. If you are more group pvp orientated you will have much more use from Ice since people in a party will probably always have holy spell.

What about Lightning? Would that be useless for a Pure STR compared to Ice or Force?

Foloroth wrote: What about Lightning? Would that be useless for a Pure STR compared to Ice or Force? IMO, yes. I don't think any str char would need Light when you can take Ice or Force. But ofcourse, if you have no way to farm the needed sp it is a decent sp efficient alternative.
