Yeah another one of my crazy ideas for SRO. My 4th one in last 2 weeks? xD

So yeah, I've noticed that there have been a few topics about guild wars and I was wondering. How about a system where if a guild war is declared, the losing guild has to wage XXX amount of gold to end the guild war.
For example, if Guild A declared war on Guild B, the players are able to attack each other WHEREEVER they seem them, except in the cities.
The players can be attack anywhere outside of the city, even while they are grinding, trading, or simply just walking around.

This would boost the use of the guild war system and it would actually give guilds the motivation to start a war.

Plan B:

My other thought is a full union on union war. The same rules as the guild wars apply.
Except what ever union that holds the fortress will have to surrender the fort. This means that who ever owns the fortress can wage war to up to 2 other unions, there could also be a Union Alliance system. Where 3 unions can ally with each other ONLY during the Union wars.
They are fighting to keep a fortress so it would inspire players to log in more and hunt down the enemies

Also how about if users get XXX amount of exp per enemy kill?

What do you guys think?

Doesn't your plan A already exist? Last time I did a guild war you set an amount of gold and/or gp for the winners to take. And you could attack anywhere. Could have been updated considering last time I did a guild war it was either 80 or 90 cap.

Most guild wars are set to last 30mins to a few hours, so meeting at a certain time and place is more convenient to rack up points much quicker. However, guild wars that are set to last longer or are unlimited allow guild members to PvP enemy players anywhere and at any time unless they're in town or something.

Yeah, right.
And about the union war thing, does anyone know what the hostility tab in the union tab of the guild window does? I thought that was for declaring "Union Wars".

This is because most SRO players aren't creative enough to hold their guild wars at varying locations. GW, PVP, it's always outside one of a few city gates. Same thing over and over and over and over again.

Warring guilds can, or at least should be able to, battle anywhere on the map outside of safe zones. It's just that no one ever does. Hold a GW that spans a week, or a month even, and know that your enemies always have to be on the lookout no matter where they are or what they're doing in the game or they could be dead. :-D

this doesn't work because then botters wouldn't be safe to bot, thats why it doesnt last more than an hour lol,

Another conspiracy theory. Well we all know botters hide so well, it's difficult to spot them anyway. That's why it takes so long to ban them.

I think what you said is the conspiracy theory...botters hide well?...difficult to find?...you joking right?....being sarcastic?.. Anyways I think Charatsandhu has a point. You wont find too many guild wars with so many botters around. Participating in a guild war is counter productive to botting.

Of course I was joking. I am all too familiar with the long lines of botters stacked in front of an NPC, or piled on top of each other at the spawn point in town, or walking in single file stop-go-stop-go-stop-go out of town, or running around in sync with each other in groups of 3 or 4 grinding on the same mobs with the same skills over and over and over out in the fields...

How is a guild war any different than PVP. It would seem PVP is a waste of 'productive botting time' but plenty of people still PVP. The only difference I can see between PVP and GW is PVP there is no reward. Both take time away from grinding or botting (eww).
