First of all, pls accept my apologies coz im learning english so, as like here, ill make some failures in grammar as in expressions etc.

Title:

By the word, everything has its price. This sounds a bit dramatic, but as far as i know, life works like this. You offer something from you life in turn for something you desired. The grand question is, is it worth it?
If some1 bot, in the first time he doesnt even want to play with the game. At the moment you are thinking on an "easy way" you lose the game.
Of course i was tempted too, but the consequesnces were cristal clear for me. I have pay extra cash for a bot(if i qould bot) and have to buy more silk so i get not banned. And for what? So finaly i wont have to play a game i payed for? I would be afk, i would find probably some nice sox stuff or... is would be me? I would be not there to see the shiny box(es), i dont even play the game at all! Some told me they do just jobs and such, but imho, thats an illusion. They(or you who bot) just want to justify their botting by "oh, i have a life dude" and make all sorts of excuses for botting, but they miss the point.
They dont play the game in the end, they will live in an illuson in they believe they achieved all the things they wanted but thats not true.
If you bot, you achieve nothing. Anything you got its not yours, its not you, its worthless in your hands. You lost the two most important things in the game long ago: true friends and the experience of all that hard work you had'nt done for what you got. The deeds what you do would have no worth coz they have'nt got the firm foundation that experience would give you. You can have a +9sun spear, it doesnt matter against an experienced player(or 2). They can counter it. And that isnt cheating, its experience.

My question is this:
All who bot: is it good to pay for a game you dont even play with?:)
Do you miss the ppl you did not met with? Coz many nice ppl play the game.
Did you think about the money sometimes you spent on nothing? Do you think sometimes on the possibility that you could _MAKE_ gold too by stalling and not just buy gold from goldbotters?
(rantrantrant)
Just think about these things pls...
Here is my 1 cent.

thank you for taking the time to say what yu wanted to say, especially since you are just learning english. many of the people here, including the mod staff, feel the same way. moved to the proper section, since this subforum is only for exposing bots.

I definitely agree with you Steph.

What's the point of botting if people dont even get the "fun feeling" to play this game?

I always laugh at the "i have a life" botters excuse. I find it pathetic.

Games are meant for fun, to have fun, doesnt matter if you're lvl 9 or lvl 80, if you smile while playing the game, that's the essence of playing it. Being AFK and come back to the computer and check how much exp or how many items has got and then go to DH and brag about it, that's really sad.

As in for me, i always find a reason to play the game. To grind my 3 hours of ticket daily with my guildies and friends, we die, we laugh, we get yarkan, they have fun, i have fun, and that's fun.. And after that we go and make some chocobo racings (kokuru racings), trade runs, pvp, help others. So fun!

However, there's people who always like the easy paths. If joymax dont take actions, then i guess we cant blame those 24/7 afk botters.
I dont respect or admire botters for what they do in game, i know a lot of people in my server who bot, and they know i dont admire them as SRO players, but they cool people who you can have a conversation with (when they're not afk).

Anyway your thread sadly wont make botters to stop botting, we just can hope that joymax gets its pants on and fix this game. By the other hand i'll be having fun with my friends in Babel.

cheers.

I value honesty so I'll use be honest. I have never botted and I do not permit my guild members to bot.

That said botting is tempting, But wait don't you like the game? Yes I do that said if I can kill 100 Hun Archers does a doubt exist that I can kill 1000 more? Is endless repetiton enjoyable if your alone? By 100 or even 50 chances are a Giant has spawned a party has spawned you have been swarmed at least once. Will I learn anything new about my character after I've killed 100 more npc's after killing 100 it's doubtful. I wouldn't be surprised if some botters only bot part of the lvl. Some people might mainly care about pvp at cap ex: My former main character was a bow honestly that character won't be phenominal till 70+ .

I've killed probably over 200 gold bots and I don't like them.

As a lower level I'd much rather be a higher one lower levels aren't that much fun as it can be a pain getting a party. Trading you can't really party up with any hunters your lvl as the thives will just kill them.

rofl that is funny, considering you leveled up in a general party full of bots.

lol what??

my guild is mostly euro, all of them handgrind together. It's way better than a lot of chinese botting their asses up.

Next time, think before typing. It works sometimes.

When you make a "supposedly factual" statement like that at least make the effort to back it up (or even play on Babel) before you start judging her.

Im still concerned about why ppl bot?
Your opinions? Yeah, i have mine too but still. Why?
I and my guildie asked several botters why they bot, and the usual answer was "i have a life". Oh... and as i asked them why dont stall then coz i have a life too XD, the answer was, they wanted to be as strong as possible as fast as possible.
Then again, what do they when they reach the cap? Coz they want to "rule", they buy gold, so they can purchase sun and such.
But as before, the most important thing is missing.
Experience...

Good n8

i think its just funny ppl are actualy willing to pay to be afk, and not enjoy the game >.<
and once they botted to lvl 80, they will buy gold and sun, and when they finaly "own" you they go brag about it...
only thing is they never actualy played the game T.T games are ment for fun, being afk while paying is not to much fun.
i know enough ppl who play for almost 2 years, and are still lvl 52-64, but if they had fun comming there its worth more then a botted up lvl 80 if you ask me >.>

also the no life excuse is pretty lame indeed, they dont see you dont HAVE to play if you dont feel like it ? O.o
i think its more "no life-ish" to pay for being afk and not even enjoy the game but well.

im just lucky im in a legit guild/union ^^ all nice ppl willing to help if needed, and ppl to grind with ^__^

Wish there were more people like you Stephanus :(

Why they bot? From the people I known, they were all way too addicted to the game. This may not be the thruth for everyone, but for many I believe the game, the levels, the amount of gold and the best gear means too much. The basics of the game and the reasons they started to play in the first place, all that is lost in their maniacal pursuit of power in this invented world.

well they bot because of joymax. Joymax makes the game so that you cannot fully enjoy without paying and without getting to the lvl cap. You can't just say that everyone who bots have no life because in part, its joymax that is causing the trouble. Yes yes I know I know, I agree with what all of you said, such as enjoying the game and meeting new friends, etc. but the game simply does not allow that considering the lvling speed and how not all people have 10 hours a day to spend on silkroad.

I agree that if someone is desperate enough to bot in SRO, they should just quit the game. If you hate the lvling and the grinding so much that you wanna bot, then the game isn't for you. Thats why I quit and thats why I don't need to get tangled up in some dumb moral debate with myself whether I should bot or not. After seeing people complain about silk prices, dc, goldbots, ksers, I'm glad im not part of the SRO community. whew.

It has to do with moral and belief, to be simplistic at best. Like what most player bot say, they do not find grinding fun. Assuming they pay to bot, you can see it as paying to not do something boring in a game which they play. To pay for a shortcut in a long path to a desire destination, in other words. About meeting people, I don't think it is in their desire to meet people; which is why they choose to bot. Possibly after botting, they start talking to people, or in between their botting. Though, this is all assuming they pay for bots. If you were to research into the bots on Silkroad Online, you'll find out that there's a lot of free bots (cracked or not).

To be honest, I don't think it has anything to do with the grinding. It has to do with them. I'm sure they started out playing the game normally, but because of the strong desire to become stronger, they choose to bot. If the grinding really does bore them, then it safe enough to say that this game is not for you. But, then comes the desire to continue to play. Greed and addiction are two words best to describe the actions.

True, esp. what Amelie said.

I'm having more fun in a party @ lvl 20 than soloing @ lvl 50+
