Today I was at a military place, issuing my military exemption certificate, it was so crowded and every guy who's under 21 had an adult coming with him, most were their fathers. They weren't happy being forced to come over there with their sons, not a single one I saw of them who looked happy not even a little. So while waiting in that long line, I thought fathers think of their children as a responsibility, and when their children grow up, they sometimes think of their parents as a burden, that's not the only scene, but this could happen, and the bond between a father and a son is usually blunt.
on the other hand people claim they love their sons and daughters more than anything else in the world, and from the day they are born they dedicate their lives to make them better people.
with all those contradictions in the weird relationship between a father and his offsprings, I try to simulate the feeling of having a child, and it's just meh.. I can't feel any excited about having kids, at all.
so for all of you, how does it feel like being a father?

I don't think this is something you can simulate. Its easy to think what something is like, but to experience it is usually quite different.

I love my son. Though he will only be 2 next month I think we will have a great relationship when he gets older. When he was younger it was stressful but even though he will be two he is a well-mannered boy. It's not as hard as everyone says it is but it's still difficult.

As someone who didn't have a father growing up, and now having a 3 year old little girl, it's pretty crazy. It's strange to me having to try and raise her as a father, but not actually ever being in a family that had a father figure. Especially since she's a girl, and I grew up with 3 brothers, and no sisters. So I just do what I believe is right, and let my wife take care of the rest. lol
Anyways, it feels rewarding at times, but also very stressful. Sometimes she can be a little angel and other times she can be the biggest brat. haha At times it can be just weird, cause she's a little advanced, so she learned to talk and stuff a bit early, so I got to have a bunch of strange conversations with a 2 year old about Katy Perry and Lady GaGa...(NOOOOOO!)

My relationship with my father has never been a strong one unfortunately, I wish it was. And I do fear that it will turn out the same with my future children. But I don't want to think of having children right now, I'm just about to turn 18 lol.

Oh vaya, when I read the title I thought you had just become a father. And, assuming it was a girl, I was going to assert my rights as guild leader and claim her for my own.

I don't really have a strong relationship with my father, we don't have that much in common. If I do have kids in the future I hope that I will be able to talk to them and interact with them without feeling awkward around them.

Bonding between my father and me wasn't something we've truly exercised... We don't say things like I love you (it's there but unspoken) or get into any lengthy conversations...Don't show nor share emotions...(That was my moms world)... It wasn't like that when I was a toddler I was told...I got lots of fatherly love and attention but growing up into the man phase (at around age 10) my dad started treating me like another man rather than a son which was sorta fine with me.... For that I've been called cold by friends and all lol... Quite the traditional dad I had... I often think I would be a somewhat different father if I had a son.....

Although they aren't my kids, I love my little niece and nephew to death. They are 4 & 1/2 and 6 and they are amazing. Sure, at times they can be over bearing but that's just a part of it. You've got to be stern at times and make some harsh calls, but there's an indescribable bond that is created.
Although I don't want my own kids for many, many years, I do look forward to the day that I start a family.

I can relate to this. There's something amazing about having a nephew, that whenever he sees you pull up, stands by the door with an excited look on his face and is all like "UNCLE LUKE!". Makes my day.

I feel like I'll just wake up someday and feel the desire to become a father. That's when Skyve Hunting Season begins
