one of my female friend (real friend no sex) got a eating disorder, she went to the hospital and all that shit, she's really open about it and she enjoy talking to me about it since i don't judge her or tell her what she should do.

anyone have ever been into this scenario? how did you react? any tips?

Have a close friend (female) who had/has a eating disorder. Suffered with it since elementary school all the way till now (not as bad now).

Some people just get disgusted at the mere site of fat, especially on their own bodies. It was awkward at time because I could hear her in the bathroom or w/e forcing herself to throw up. She wasn't as open about it as your friend but she/others did acknowledge it. I never personally confronted her about it because it is a sensitive subject to most people who do suffer from these disorders.

I couldn't imagine ever having one or dealing with it because I'm way on the opposite side of that spectrum, I love food way too much.

No.
But most people with eating disorders "are afraid to reach out".. and admit that they have a problem.

I have no experience with people with eating disorders, but generally speaking my advice for mental disorders is 'run for the hills'. Get out while you still can.
I know this sounds weird and harsh, but trust me on this one. You don't want to be involved in this kind of stuff, you really don't.

fat people also have an eating disorder. so yeah, everyone must know someone who has an eating disorder. But I think you mean anorexia or boulimia, those are often much worse then just being fat.

it's not an eating disorder though, it's a mental disorder. these people keep seeing themselfes as being fat, even tough they are (extremely) skinny. it often has to do with lack of confidence etc. I had a girl in my class who had anorexia, when we used to go eat some fries or something with our class, she would sport like 3 hours (!) after that so she could lose the weight she had gained while eating the fries. she didn't seem to understand she was already very skinny. she was worried people would be able to see she had gained weight after eating only one portion of fries.

also I agree with Woutr. she need professional help, there is no way you can do anything about it.

I don't have any problems with eating, but I generally don't eat very much. My stomach gets full pretty quick, or at least I get the feeling of it quick. I'm quite fit though and not that skinny. Maybe I don't eat that much because I'm depressed and stuff, or I got it from my mom since she is skinny.

I don't really see the problem here....You could kill two birds with one stone and help her work out since you're already working out yourself....Just don't give her any of your steroids...

I agree that this is also a mental disorder, this is an awful condition and needs doctor advice for right medical assistance. The breakfast food sector has seen a consistent rise in sales during the recession. Nutritionists say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, so that should be heartening news. But the gains mostly represent the increased consumption of bacon and sweet pastries. :)
