I just watched the finale of Battlestar.For me Battlestar Galactica has been full of shocking suprises, yet the most shocking thing was that it had a happy ending! Don't get me wrong, it's what I wanted. I just didn't expect it!
I also like how they explain kara. I figured she was like Blatar's invisible six, but with everybody. She never actually returned, nor was anybody actually physically interacting with her. We have seen 6 get physical with baltar, slamming him up against the wall and leading him around the ship by his tie. Because everybody can see her and "feel" her, she is "real".
When she punches in the coordinates for Earth, they replayed the shot where Leobin says, "When i look at you, I see an Angel blazing with the light of God!" so i assume she is an Angel, like 6 and invisible Baltar, and when she had completed her task, she dissapeared. That i liked a lot, and it would explain
why she was called the angle of death.
And lets not forget about Hera they explained that one up pretty well. She is mitochondrial EVE, meaning:
(and this part is real) Scientists can trace genetic lineage through the DNA in Mitochondria, which are little energy producing organelles inside every cell. Since the discovery of mitochondrial DNA, scientists have been looking for evidence of mitochondrial EVE, which is a person every other human has descended from. As of yet they have not found remains of a person like that, but mathematics says, in theory, that if you go far enough back, you should find someone that every other person is related to. This, by the way, does not mean that there was only one person alive at the time. Far from it, but that if you allow enough time to pass, all family trees will mix at some point, so their could be lots of mitochondrial Eve's.
Through out the show they have said that Hera, Is "the shape of things to come". basically, everyone here, now, on Earth is descended from her, meaning everyone on earth is part cylon. That is the point of Hera. And If she had not wandered into the CIC, (weird oprah house thing) the following events that led to Starbuck Punching the FTL coordinates of Earth would not have happened.
All in all it was a brilliant ending to a fantastic tv show.
