justin bieber does not have talent. he cannot sing nor can he do anything with a level of skill deemed as talent. he doesnt write his song lyrics or music no matter how much people think he influences any of it, he doesnt. he uses voice editting software that a novice sound engineer can pick up on.
talent =/= success because i can name a hell of a lot of very talented people in musical theory, technique, performance and natural musical inhibition that do not have anything like the success justin beiber has.
he is a successful exploit by media and consumerism.
Receives an honourable award whilst wearing a backwards cap, overalls that are missing one strap and a giant gold chain around his neck. No wonder people hate our generation
Wearing this stuff is part of his job as an entertainer. Just like an engineer needs his toolbox. He has to look different to set himself apart from other performers. He probably got the award simply for being so successful at what he does, making Canada look good in the music industry. Yeah most of you guys probably don't like him for a number of reasons (although let's be honest, you guys mostly hate him because it's cool to hate him) but success is success.
Yeah don't **** with my biebs kk
Come at me
P.S: I don't like his outfit either
It has nothing to do with hating him of his music, nor does it have anything to do with his sense of fashion. It's a formal ceremony and proper etiquette dictates that its respectable to dress formally to mark the context of the scenario. Inky sums it up pretty well. It looks almost arrogant to dress so casually for the award, not to mention how rude it is to be wearing a hat inside. If I was presenting that award I'd honestly be offended at the recipients dress code. It could Beiber or Barrack, either way its still inappropriate.
Can't believe we're actually denying that he can sing. Dat hate bandwagon.
As I already said, I really don't hate him, I have no reason for that. But he can't sing, and that's a fact.
There's several videos of him on YouTube singing acapella. He can 'effing sing and that's a fact. I don't even know where you're getting that idea.

No one is saying that you aren't talented if you haven't reached "success". Did you actually inform yourself about his abilities to sing or are you just falsely assuming that any successful singer is hooked on autotune.

no there are good singers but most of the time these good singers are just good singers. Its rare to find a good singer that also writes their own music and lyrics which in my opinion makes a whole lot more of a difference then the actual singing ability. for example, adele is a good singer but only a few of her songs have been successful yet almost every beatles songs were successful in some form and no member of the beatles were fantastic singers.

when these "artists" are targeted toward 11-17 year old girls i do not take the serious. like the jonas brothers... they have no substance and are just there till the next cute guy walks by
thanks for proving my point that he is some talentless over produced consumerist whore =)
One video out of the many others. Even legends have bad performances. I like how it takes you one video for you to formulate an opinion on someone's singing abilities. I'm all for you not liking his singing style, but blindly hating him for no real reasons is just stupid.
Oh and you haven't used the term "consumerist" in the right sense , not even once.
what I mean is that he has been portrayed as a selling point for others. the jonas brothers was before that and i guess someone like justin timberlake was the other that springs to mind. 8-14 year olds are always going to look for some cute guy to crush over and justin beiber has been picked to be this person.
justin is not the most attractive person in the world but his attitude and confidence is a good indicator of a person that sells.
ive seen many justin bieber videos and performances and the fact that i have seen him mime just once puts him way down on the list for me, if i went to see someone who has talent i certainly would be offended to watch them fake it in front of me. justin beiber is large in the uk too so we still get to see a fair amount of stuff about him.
justin is merely used like a brand to sell things and i dont think he understands that he will become just another man when his time is up (a very very rich one at that) consumerist* to describe ones attachment to materialistic values or possessions.
