i like vista i use it everyday at my collage class for game programing it runs smooth never had it crash on me no matter what iv done to it. then again its vista business its still better then xp im planning to downgrade my one computer to windows 2000 because that runs better then xp. i just need to find me 2000 disks

Not worth the hassle. You'll find that a lot of programs wont work on 2000

for what i use this computer for all i need is a web browser and wireless internet and its fine. besides i dont have to worry about the register with Microsoft pain in the neck stuff. because the computer i had xp for in the first place needs a cpu replacment. this computer had 98 at the time so i just installed xp but now i have 30 days to register and other stuff. besides alot of things i use still run on 2000

It is weird that everyone hates vista so much but in the end most of ppl are using vista nowadays. Don't get me wrong I have some bad things to say about vista (like it is the most unstable operating system in long time) but still it's good enough to be used every day.

I hope this windows is next XP, cuz vista sux and they need to make a decent windows again.

their has never been a decent windows, xp is only good now because they have patched it so many times over the years and it was a more welcome break from the fail of ME, it was never 'good' imo then again im not going to vista so i should shut up and be quite and see whats windows 7 is like first

Thats I was saying, XP was much better than milleniun and some other failed versions. Didnt sayed it was very good, just it was good comparing to others.

Whats the point of making a new windows anyway?

Why don't they just keep working on XP?

I havent been bothered to read to much about Windows 7. But whats so appealing about it? A new interface or something?

Unless its something revolutionary i doubt i will upgrade from Vista. Runs like a dream on my machine anyway never had any problems, i just love how people treat it like shit, but when they look at my computer they say "wow is this vista? its so good", they are just to retarded to know how to customize it to make it better.

Ah well, already downloading Windows 7 to try on my old laptop

Uhm they rebuilt explorer.exe for a start, it boots in 30 seconds from shutoff (apparently), it uses only 490mb memory apposed to vista's 800mb idle. and the most important feature THEY REDESIGNED MS PAINT!!!! xD

Just installed the beta. Installing display drivers crashes Windows with a second display enabled, and Windows Update fails to install them anyway, so I had to install them manually. I also had to manually set up the permissions on my second drive before I could access it. Other than that though, I'm lovin' it.

Because updates don't cost money. By that I mean if they continued to work on XP.. XP Sp4 would be free. They're filthy rich and getting richer, so making people go out and buy a whole new OS brings in even more money for them.

Hopefully its good, I'm still on XP because I've tried vista and really didn't like it. On my brothers 8400 wolfdale, 2gb 800mhz ram with an 8600 video card mind you, not a pos computer.
Maybe I can go from xp --> w7, rawr.
