its about reducing the chance of these things happening. you are not going to stop people who are all out intent on creating extreme terror so instead make it harder for them but also make it difficult for people to think that way anyway. I would guess that 80% of the shootings that occur now would not have happened if a gun wasnt so readily available to people
At least you have facts to back up everything... Forget mass murders... I just want this thread to be over. lol
We should also ban alcohol, cigarettes, cars, high cholesterol foods, knives and heavy blunt objects using that logic.
Don't forget sexy outfits because that would prevent 80% of the rapes =]. Because blaming poeple for there actions is unthinkable lets blame tools instead.

You guys stop playing dumb (or trolling)...No one is blaming the items used in crimes/accidents/slow suicide/etc and I know you guys are aware of that... Limiting/restricting access to these items isn't a war on the item themselves but rather on the susceptibility/likelihood of some people to use them in a undesirable manner...

This. Just stop ignoring the facts. And also, it would be nice to see this thread closed, it's a spam thread.

You must have missed my post on the previous page.

Require firearms license renewal every 3 years.
Require the same procedure for renewal as the initial application for the license (background check, psychiatric evaluation).
Ban the storage of firearms in homes with mentally unstable people.
Require a firearms license to purchase firearms at expositions.
If people don't want to comply with the procedures they must surrender their guns to their local PD.
Obviously it isn't fail safe but it would go a long way in preventing firearms ending up in the wrong hands. Banning high capacity magazines and assault rifles isn't going to stop mass shootings. The largest massacre on American soil (Virginia Tech) was done with two pistols.
I have no problem with making ownership of firearms more tedious. It is impossible for the gov't of the United States to remove all of "military-grade" weaponry and high capacity magazines from the country and to make an effort to would be a giant waste of resources.

I'm currently wondering what will happen if Dianne Feinstein and Obama succeeded in passing the gun ban. I highly doubt she'll succeed, though. She's been trying for decades now. She wants guns gone, yet she carries a pistol... and has armed body guards. Hmmmm...
Can a mod close this thread before anybody else rages?
This whole gun debate is stupid, neither side will change their points of view and will only argue about it. That's why I say it'll start the argument again. Just let this thread die.

I know how most of you feel...despite my views on this topic and that I was in here voicing it, I was dreadfully afraid to click on this thread once more when I saw it...(due to recent news about gun laws)....Thankfully most of you are feeling the same because I don't and can't be bothered again...not that I would even go another round in this thread..too tiring...Yes let this one die...

unless of course you think biden's work into this gun law debate and his conclusions and proposals are also stupid as well, in which case america probably isnt the best place to be for you right now.

You're implying though that congress does anything smart. I don't know if you understand how America's government works, but it's fucking retarded.

It wasn't so much that your ideas were stupid. It was the way you were pulling facts out of nowhere and putting words into other people's mouths that everyone though was stupid. Plus, just because an elected official is doing something doesn't mean it is smart.

Your interpretation of American gun culture is hilarious. Have you ever met anyone that owns a gun?
Also, where was all of this outrage and moves to ban assault weapons after the Aurora Colorado movie theatre massacre? Oh right, there was an election coming up.
