Question: Why do most black people vote as democrats?

Nah. I'm aware of the whole voting for him because he's black argument. But what I want to know is why else they voted for him, and democrats in general, in such large numbers. 93% of any race voting for one candidate is, well, odd.

I just want to know if there's some major factor I'm missing here which compels black people to vote democratic.

It's just something within the culture, you are born and raised to know republicans are bad people. Then later in life people look into political ideologies and realize that republicans have a retarded way (imo) of looking at how government should function.

Plus dem's are known to help minorities v. repub's who help strong rich white businessmen.

Although, I don't really see why dem's demonize a successful buisness man who achieve the American dream by acquiring a large amount of wealth. (Romney is a perfect example of this.)

Someone in class said that black people vote for dem's because their all about sharing the wealth. Whereas republicans are not. What are your thoughts on that?

To an extent yes that is true, there is more of a community feeling compared to the every man for himself sort of deal that is boasted by repub's.



Whats wrong with that type of businessman is 1 he isn't self made he was born into wealth meaning he is going to have the easiest life available and 2 if those businessmen weren't the greediest most self centered bastards on the planet there wouldn't be an issue.

Without a certain element of greed, capitalism would not be possible.

My opinion is this: if I achieve a somewhat successful life due to hardwork and determination, and acquire a decent amount of wealth, I'll be damned if I have to share it with someone who was a lazy, underachieving moron. That makes absolutely no sense.

And for what it's worth, I come from a below average income family.

And that's why a true capitalistic society has never worked and will never work, greed is a poison to society.

It's not the people in the middle class making 50-120k a year they care about its the corporate ceo's that take 10m dollar christmas bonus's while not giving shit to their employees, people like the ones who ran Chrysler and were earning asinine amounts of money while they let people lose their jobs instead of losing their bonus'.

Eh,'I don't see greed as a poison, at least, not entirely. It can also be a motivator that causes us to strive towards being the best that we can be in all areas of our life. Which, in turn, causes society as a whole to benefit.

As for the CEO's, that's a bit of a tricky situation. And while I disapprove of CEO's, or anyone for that matter, treating people poorly, they did get there by climbing up the corporate ladder. Which is impressive. And the allure of being incredibly wealthy is what keeps me pushing on. Strive to be the best I can be. If there was a cap on the potential salary i could make, due to government regilations, that'd cause me to settle for something less then excellence. And I dislike that idea.

Another way to look at it is this, while CEO's aren't the best people and don't pay their people incredibly well. They do still provide jobs for people. And I think we can all agree, a shitty job is better than none at all.

Even if you achieve great wealth, you've been indirectly aided by the population (tax money providing you with some essential needs).

Thing about these debates (I mean between people like us/civilians) between candidates is that you just end up comparing the typical socialist ideology to the capitalist ideology. If you really want to debate Obama vs Romney, you have to actually look into the specifics of what their campaign offers. Every president adds it own variation to the ideology he/she supports.

Another way to look at it is, these people (CEO's) know that they could provide a better life for the people of their business, they could help that poor single mom who is struggling to keep her apartment but they don't. Their greed tells them to help themselves, to make theirselves as happy or wealthy as possible despite the fact that them doing that is hurting thousands of people. If that isnt farked up I dont know what is.

The issue with your motivation is, your striving for money you aren't striving to be the best person you can be or be the most helpful to the world, your striving for selfishness and your striving to be as rich as a man can be.


Without greed a marxist society would work and prosper, everyone could be what they wanted to be, we would have doctors who were doctors because they like helping people not because they like what a high salary can buy.

I don't limit the definition of greed to money. There's other ways its useful. (An example would be striving to have the best body, or best song possible.)


Anyhow, I hate when people pull the "single mother" card. Because, usually,'a single mother is a single mother because she deided to have sex with someone, and as a result, she got pregnant. Since when does someones decison of choosing to hav sex, make them a perfect example of everything that's wrong with capitalism? Divorce is another reason for single mothers as it is on the rise.
According to enrichment journal on the divorce rate in America:

The divorce rate in America for first marriage is 41%
The divorce rate in America for second marriage is 60%
The divorce rate in America for third marriage is 73%

So no it doesn't have to be a floosy who got knocked up by some random, it could be a woman who got married had kids and the guy walked out or he dies or a million other combinations of things.

I think its the same reason why most rural white people (*cough*rednecks) vote republican. Its just culture.
I dont think its that Democrats dont appeal to success, its that they favor more gov't control (and regulations) which stabilize the economy, which helps the middle class. Rather than no regulations which creates boom busts, and while the rich people wont be as affected, the rest get ass fcked (during recessions)- due to risks that they didn't take themselves.
