Well I did buy a laptop 2 months ago and it was great for gaming. But I returned it because (1) It wasn't' really the laptop that I was looking for and (2) I became curious about all in one PCs...

I hate clutter and love open spaces. Because of that I haven't owned a traditional desktop tower since 2008.....Frankly I think PC towers are going to be a thing of the past soon because of the trend towards smaller, lighter, thinner and more powerful

What I want to know from you guys is if All-in-one PCs are good enough for all sorts of gaming as well as 3D and 2D modeling softwares like AutoCAD... I don't mind the reduced mobility anymore... Thanks.

Find specs, google if specs are good enough for games you want or specific cad software. That's all there is to it.

Making your own desktop IS and will be the cheapest and most cost efficient solution for a long time though.

Problem with all in one PCs is that it's pretty much a slightly pricier laptop. Unless you want it to be mobile then just stick to a laptop. If you really don't care build your PC. I know everybody is afraid to do so, but it's not hard.

Beyond that what kind of games do you play? How fast do you want things to render? That's really the main question here. It can determine a huge price difference.. well "fast" in rendering is vague lol.

My dad has one, the HP one that is touchscreen. IMO its not that impressive but the lack of having a physical tower is nice.

Oh got no problem building my own PC but I just cant be bothered with them anymore....They just become noisy dust collectors in the end with a rats nest of wires behind them....I play FPS games as well as MMORPGs mostly... I was hoping to hear from experience regarding the All-in-ones...

Fair enough. Though you have to be more specific on what games. It can mean quite a bit of a difference. Though noisy? Most video cards and CPU heatsinks have become far quieter over the past years. I'm surprised actually.

Spoiler!

You're a homosexual for using all those periods without a use. Such an awful style of typing? Is it a style? Well whatever.

Tera and GW2 would probably do fine with something midrange. Just a quick search and midrange brings up around this price range.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6883220168

Problem is like I said it's a laptop basically, but priced a bit more. Honestly that isn't even worth the price. Also the intended audience is clearly not for gamers.

I suggest staying away from all in ones.

Hmmm..... You may have a point about these all-in-one PCs.... They're not there yet when it comes to gaming.... The current ones on the market are not targeted at gaming as you said.... I should probably hold off buying one right now for fear of looking like a homosexual... Or I might just get one still seeing as I like to explore possibilities.... Anyways... Thanks for your input.. It was both helpful (honestly) and funny.. :D and I find value in that..... Seriously again I thank you..

What is the difference between "All-In-One PCs" and a regular PC?

-Touchscreen
-everything is packed inside the monitor.
it's a essentially a notebook on a standard. Though prefer to call it an marketing scam :/. It thrives entirely on the fact that it's flashy and new. Touchscreen? have fun cleaning it after a week. And the size obviously limits the components power or at the very least makes it more prone to overheating. And unlike a laptop which features the same downsides it's not mobile so as to make up for it.

Tower PC desktops are still the way to go. Newer != better. Anyone who thinks otherwise should just burn :banghead:

lold

OT: My grandpa has the HP one. I don't think it looks that much better than a regular desktop/laptop, it's very very heavy (like truckload heavy) and it's definitely not suitable for gaming.
My grandpa is so afraid of scratches on the screen he's using some kind of improvised 'finger' made out of a straw and some viscose cloth. He honestly looked much more happy with just a laptop.

My uncle has one in his kitchen, they use it for recipes and other cooking stuff, and casual browsing when into a heavy discussion about stuff. Yet it is the only use for it. He has one ultrabook, an alien aware laptop, a dell xps laptop, a computer tower e.t.c.

Bit of an overkill hahahaha. The average computer per person ratio in their house is 3:1 hahahaha
