As some of you may know, I'm deployed to Afghanistan. I'm getting ready to leave now in the next few weeks. I miss the USA :(

Here's a few pictures :)

It took me a while to learn how to drive on the opposite side of the steering wheel. The british made fun of me, but we all had fun.

Nice photos...I gotta ask....What do you think of the claims being made that you guys are being unnecessarily placed in harms way due to shady and or incompetent politics...

I can write you a whole book on why we shouldn't be here. But that would lead to some trouble lol, all I can say is.. Mitt Romney has angered a lot of us, making claims that we should be here longer just proves how little he knows.. and how little politicians know.. In a nut shell, I am still trying to find a reason as to why we are here. I guess to babysit the Afghan Army..

Maybe because of "political failure"? Anyway, stay safe!

Must be a hell for you there, because this reminds alot of Iraq. It's a totally different world over there, almost a different reality. And also all the soldiers I've spoken in Iraq said the same thing as you, they dont understand either why they were there. I guess you just have to accept it and do as you're told. Maybe we should send all those men in suits who decide over military actions to Afghanistan. Maybe they'll think twice before they decide it's 'needed' to send the military there.

Anyways, hang in there. Be cautious and try to get home safely. Must be hard for your family too. Goodluck!

Reminds me of that Micheal Myers documentary where he was on the steps of congress stopping and interviewing members of the senate about their thoughts on sending soldiers overseas to fight.... They all strongly agree and supported the idea but then he asked them to sign up their own sons and daughters for service right there on the spot, they all said no and started walking away from the interview...priceless lol....

Mad respect, sir. Air Force? Even more respect. I've lived around/worked for the Air Force as a civilian for a while now and I have to say I commend you.

Get home safe and awesome for getting to fly in a C-17. You a pilot or crew chief or what?

I was wondering the same thing. What job do you have on the C-17?

I don't work on the C-17's, I just happen to know a lot of "heavy" air craft pilots. If time permits, I typically get to ride on them during Air Drop missions (like call of duty care packages). I work on Computers I'm trying to get the hook up and ride in the back of an F-16..
