Help needed, How do I extract individual frames?

I don't know how many of you do animation, but when you animate and render out the movie you can choose to either do it in .wmv (or other format) or in individual frames (usually in the 10k+) and then string it together.

How do I extract individual frames from a movie I have that I did not make? Just one I downloaded.

*Gonna cheat on an effect, don't want to make nodes :banghead:

BTW, this is lightwave animation, not image ready.

Hmm..Maybe drag it out of the animation box, assuming ur using imageready.

Don't have photoshop/image ready.

Edit: Well I do at work, but I don't have it at home... where I am now. Is there another program that I can use?
